 COLLABORATION  WORKSHOPS

Collaboration and creativity go hand in hand. In
our collaboration workshops we facilitate the
co-creation of
research ideas.

Academic research is rarely a solo endeavor. As collaboration and great ideas are both crucial for impactful scientific research, we bring them together in our collaboration workshops.

With our specific tooling for co-creating ideas, we help faculties to initiate collaboration between their researchers on joint research projects. We also support universities that aim to boost interdisciplinary research. Our tools enable more comprehensible communication between researchers from different fields in the ideation stage of research projects. Similarly, we facilitate collaboration in consortia and research networks regarding agenda-setting and brainstorming about new avenues for impactful research.

 3  TYPES OF COLLABORATION WORKSHOPS

ALWAYS CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR NEEDS

COLLABORATE WITHIN YOUR DEPARTMENT OR FACULTY

Workshops to help (young) faculty generate more impactful and creative ideas, and pushing joint projects between faculty members. We provide training to researchers in using our tools, and facilitate application of the tools in a collaborative environment.

INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH

Workshops to help researchers from different faculties and research fields in your university co-create ideas for interdisciplinary research projects. We provide training to researchers in using our tools, and facilitate application of the tools in a collaborative environment.

INTERUNIVERSITY COLLABORATION

In the context of consortia, research communities and EU projects, we support researchers from different universities to brainstorm and align where to go with their collaborative endeavor. We shape our methodology and tools to the specific context of the collaboration, and provide coaching by innovation experts.

THE CASE OF THE
 METALS CONSORTIUM
OF GHENT UNIVERSITY

THE CLIENT

The Metals consortium of Ghent University aims to grow into the leading European technology center for metal research through combined efforts and expertise in material research, characterization techniques and advanced metal-oriented applications. The activities range from fundamental material research to application-driven design of large structures.

They offer in-depth academic expertise, research capacity and dedicated infrastructure to bring added value in the domain of metal innovation. They help to develop new generation of metal alloys, process techniques and products, together with advanced characterization tools making your design safe and durable in real conditions.

THE CHALLENGE

The consortium was organizing a 1-day network event with post-doc researchers, professors and industry partners (approximately 50-70 participants). The event had the purpose to get used to talking in an informal way to each other and to explore and initiate discussion on possible interesting research directions and collaborations. The day was successful if participants got acquainted to each other and got insights for future research with colleagues.

THE SOLUTION

We developed a customized 1-day workshop format including an inspirational session, templates for teamwork and facilitation of teams working on collaborative research ideas.
