RESEARCH VALORIZATION
It is not easy to bring ideas to market and build a business case that showcases your potential market impact. Researchers often struggle to translate their work and bring together a story.
Through our experience working with science-based companies and research organizations, we provide you with the tools and coaching to valorize your research.
We help you bridge science with the market

WORKSHOPS CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR NEEDS
Given the different contexts that our clients face, we always work together to customize our valorization workshops to their needs. This includes both the workshop timing and context. In terms of timing, for example, we have done 3 to 5-day bootcamps and several day workshops spread in time with work in between. In terms of context, we have a host of tools and formats, and decide together what fits you best. Below an example of a pitch deck that we could build together and some of the tools we work with.

WHY COLLABORATING WITH
ACADEMIC CREATIVITY LABS?
This is what makes us a unique partner for universities

OUR ACADEMIC ROOTS
We all do or did academic research ourselves, so we know the academic world. With our different backgrounds, all bridging academia and practice, we bring a unique set of skills and expertise, understanding the needs and modi operandi of both worlds.

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH
SCIENCE-BASED COMPANIES AND RESEARCH ORGANIZATIONS
With our own university spin-off, MTI², we've been guiding researchers at companies like Merck, Boehringer Ingelheim, Nokia, Baxter, and many more ... to go from research towards
real applications.
OUR EXPERTISE IN CUSTOMER-CENTRIC INNOVATION
We are experts in enabling people and firms to drive customer centric innovation. Our tools and methodologies will help academics to look beyond the academic relevance of their research results, towards how they can create value for users, patients and society.

THE CASE OF THE
CATCH BIO
THE CLIENT
CatchBio is a consortium of 21 partners from industry and academia, partly financed by the Dutch ministeries of Economic Affairs and of Education, Culture and Science, and with the support office based at the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). It is an ambitious research program of eight years in the field of catalytic biomass conversion covering the whole spectrum of subjects from biofeed to products in three main application areas in an integrated manner. CatchBio aims to convert the various components present in second generation biomass (cellulose, hemi-cellulose, lignin, proteins and oils) into fuels, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

THE CHALLENGE
When the consortium welcomed 30+ new postdocs, they had to ensure that these postdoc projects did not become pure academic projects, but instead lead to new business opportunities for the partner companies. CatchBio wanted to organize a workshop to introduce the postdocs to a business mindset, to ensure later successful hand-over of the postdoc projects to companies.
THE SOLUTION
We developed a customized, 2-day workshop building on THINK-ACT approach. In the morning sessions, our focus was on “THINK” (knowledge transfer, tool application, case discussion). In the afternoon, we worked with the postdocs on “ACT” (develop business vision for own research program and present).
